Recycling of car wash waste water from the automatic equipment became a fact of life following the extensive droughts and water restrictions a decade ago.
At this time ACWA initiated an extensive independent scientific research project to quantify the contents of that waste water to ensure health and safety requirements were being met.

ACWA also prepared a Stormwater Statement based on the research results, noting the wide range of contaminants in the waste water and the unacceptable quantity levels. A Pollution Calculator enables the amount of pollution for any known demographic area to be worked out automatically.
